The Tom Connor Service Award honors an exceptional individual who has demonstrated an outstanding and sustained commitment to serving the Greater Peoria community.

This award recognizes an individual whose volunteer service, leadership, and dedication have made a meaningful difference in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford County. The recipient represents the spirit of community service through a long-term commitment to helping others, strengthening organizations, developing programs and initiatives, and contributing to the overall quality of life in our region.

We encourage nominations of individuals who have consistently given their time, talents, leadership, and energy to the community. Nominees may have served through nonprofit organizations, community initiatives, boards and committees, volunteer programs, civic organizations, neighborhood efforts, mentorship, charitable causes, or other forms of community service.

When completing the nomination, please provide specific examples that demonstrate the nominee's long-term service, leadership, initiative, and impact. Tell us not only where the individual has volunteered or served, but also how their involvement has made a difference. Examples of programs they have helped create or strengthen, people or organizations they have supported, leadership roles they have held, and measurable or lasting community outcomes are especially helpful.

Nominees should have a demonstrated history of service within Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford County. Previous awards or recognition may be included but are not required.

A letter of support is required and should provide additional insight into the nominee's character, service, leadership, and contribution to the Greater Peoria community.

The recipient of the 2026 Tom Connor Service Award will be recognized during the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at the Peoria Civic Center.
